The Challenges
The Springfort House project entailed the renovation of a single storey dwelling, seven bay, with gable to the road. Sash windows, porch, conservatory, five chimneys and outbuildings to the rear. Two additional chimneys on return to the rear. This dwelling was of special interest to local authorities from an architectural and historical point of view & was classified as a protected structure.
Pinnacle’s work at Springfort house included the following:
- Removal of section of existing roof and replace same with new rafters and ceiling joists on new concrete beam to engineer’s detail.
- New felt and slate being fitted on section of roof renewed.
- Take up all existing floors and replace same with new radon barrier sub-floor insulation under floor heating and screed.
- Remove all existing timber windows and replace same with all new windows to architects design.
- Metal stud and insulated slab to all external walls and skim to same.
- Form new opes in building and install lintels as per the architect’s plan.
- New slabs to ceiling and skim to same.
- Install all new joinery & floor finish.
- New paint work throughout.
